Make Money With Mobile Marketing

What To Do To Make Money With Mobile Marketing; a good, sound guide on how to make money with mobile marketing. This is something you simply must do whether you are just starting out or already have a successful internet business. Most marketers have not yet grasped the fact that marketing via mobile phones is potentially bigger than marketing via PCs and laptops simply for the reason that there are many more people with access to mobile phones than with access to either PCs or laptops. Consider this one fact: 91% of Americans use mobile or cell phones. That is a huge market. Then consider this: most African countries have very poor landline access to phones but they all have access to mobile phones. Marketing to mobile or cell phones is growing at an exponential rate. The figures are simply mind boggling. If you are not interested in this type of marketing then your internet business will eventually die. My advice to you is to get into this kind of marketing sooner rather than later. Do it now!

Marketing to mobile or cell phones is growing at an exponential rate. The figures are simply mind boggling. If you are not interested in this type of marketing then your internet business will eventually die. My advice to you is to get into this kind of marketing sooner rather than later.

A lot of people think mobile marketing is limited to text messages but you can use voice mail as well. First of all though, let’s consider text messages. You are limited to how long your messages can be. However, if you think very carefully about your campaigns you will begin to realise that mobile phone advertising campaigns are very similar to Google AdWords; that is, every character counts.

A huge advantage over email is that people check their text messages constantly whereas some people only check their email once a day. Your message has an excellent chance of reaching its target almost immediately.

Now some people think that mobile or cell marketing needs to be vastly different to your usual internet marketing. I say that if you are doing your internet marketing the right way then there is no difference at all. I do not try to sell to anyone initially. I offer them a free report that is packed with useful information. Once the recipient has had time to read and absorb the report I follow up with emails that again are full of useful information. Finally I will guide them towards a useful product that some of them will buy.

With mobile marketing you follow up with short text messages instead of emails. You cannot, of course, provide them with the same amount of information in your text message as in an email but you get round this by giving them a link to your free useful information.

Other ways of getting attention are discount sales, entertainment in the form of games, interesting or funny videos and competitions and giveaways.

You can always, of course, try shortcuts such as buying mobile phone numbers. But if the quality is anything like bought email addresses then you are just wasting your time and your money. It is always better to build your own opt-in list of mobile phone users. Then you build up trust by sending out useful free information and eventually your subscribers will become buyers. In any case it is illegal to send out messages without the permission of the intended recipient.

There are some marketing companies out there who specialise in mobile marketing. I advise you to do some research before you sign up for anything. Some of these companies specialise in small to medium sized companies and these are the ones I would advise you to look at first. Some of them have some fantastic offers so do your research carefully.

Both voice marketing and text messaging can be used. One tip: many people over 55 dislike text messaging as it is considered too fiddly for them. I myself would much rather telephone someone than try to press tinier and tinier keys. For this age group you will get much better results using voice mail.

Many mobile marketing companies have free trials. It is well worth trying these out before committing any money to a campaign.

Obviously, as with other forms of internet marketing you will need a domain name, a company to host your site and a squeeze page to capture first names and mobile numbers. As I deal with all these topics extensively elsewhere I do not intend to repeat myself here. However, just to save you time here is where I buy my domain names and where you can get good, cheap hosting:

Once you are set up don’t forget that you market the same way as you do when people are using a PC or laptop. So you send them regular good valuable information for free once a week, then you promote to them once a week. The only difference is you have to restrict your text message to about 150 characters (just like Twitter) and that you are providing links to your free information and to the products you are selling rather than including the free information and the selling information in the body of your message as you would do in an email.

Good luck with your mobilel marketing, although luck has rarely anything to do with your success.
