Video Marketing Part One

Video Marketing Part One: a guide to making videos make money online for you including a very simple method I use myself. There is no doubt that adding videos either to a pdf document to sell as a product or as part of a marketing campaign increases the value of the product and raises the profile of your campaign. With videos, even short ones, as part of a marketing campaign you have a much better chance of identifying with your audience and of gaining their trust. You can establish your brand that much better. Potential customers can see you and make judgements about how honest you look. It is relatively easy to see if someone is lying through their teeth in a video whereas if you concentrate solely on the words on your website it is much more difficult to make a judgement as to the validity of what you have written. Read, absorb, take action, video and watch the money roll in!

What to do to make money with video marketing? There is no doubt that adding videos either to a pdf document to sell as a product or as part of a marketing campaign increases the value of the product and raises the profile of your campaign.

With videos, even short ones, as part of a marketing campaign you have a much better chance of identifying with your audience and of gaining their trust. You can establish your brand that much better. Potential customers can see you and make judgements about how honest you look. It is relatively easy to see if someone is lying through their teeth in a video whereas if you concentrate solely on the words on your website it is much more difficult to make a judgement as to the validity of what you have written.

Ignore the professional looking introduction in the photograph above. I do all my own videos very simply in front of my computer as explained below.

In a video you can introduce yourself, welcome customers to your website, explain what you have for them and if you do what I do then you do not always make a sales pitch. I use short videos to introduce my free products. I say a little bit about what the product is about and how it can help their business. I also have a few words on a webpage as well so those customers who prefer to read at their own pace can do so.

Do not do what so many so called gurus do and simply repeat in the video what you have written down. If you do that there is simply no point in making the video. Your video should explain something different about the product. Don’t be lazy or treat your customers as if they were stupid.

If you use words on a page and the spoken word in a video then you are covering as many angles as possible. It is a fact that some people like to read whereas many more much prefer to learn by watching. And the use of video has grown immensely in the past few years in internet marketing and in most other areas too. Just look at the success of YouTube.

Many marketers struggle with making videos yet it is not that difficult. Like many things in life you only get better by doing it again and again. There are many easy to use cameras to buy. I use a Flip camera and a free autocue and simply put the camera on my computer monitor. Once I’ve got the autocue to scroll down at the best speed for my speed of talking I switch the camera on and place it on the monitor. I do a small count in and when I’m finished I do a small count out. This is so I can edit out the beginning when the camera is all over the place as I put it on the monitor and the same when I pick the camera up to switch it off. As long as you are a reasonable distance from the screen it looks as if you are looking directly at the camera. Try it and see.

Part two deals with the kind of simple video cameras you should consider buying, plus information on free autocues and editing software.
